All summer houses are only made to order. The design normally follows the Lusthus models. These models can easily be modified according to your requirements. ( Size, materials, colours, window bars, wooden decors, accessories etc)
The standard design of the summer houses follow a traditional and historical Swedish design for exclusive summer houses, which were richly decorated with wooden decorations.
Our summer houses are thermally insulated to ensure round the year usage.
Why we are Unique How many other Summer houses are designed by a professional architect (Lars Wallén) who knows about materials, light, structure, functionality, style and economy?
If the Swedish do not know about how to repel the weather then no one will!
As with many Swedish products, these are summerhouses are built with passion and style.
Design The houses and the products are designed by Lars Wallén, a well known Swedish architect whose specialty is to give the customer an individual & unique product in terms of design and material, at a reasonable price.
Size Standard sizes for this octagonal summer house are 8, 11 and 25 square metres (gross area including outer wall). For the 11 square metre sumer house each of the 8 walls are 1510 mm wide (outside measurements).
Materials As standard the frame is made of durable North European pine. Doors , roof windows, ground sills, and all glass panel beads are made of European oak or pine. By order the house can be made entirely in massive oak or African hardwood. All glass is double glazed sealed units. Roofing material can be in many different roofing materials including copper, titan zinc, lead, oak boards or tiles.
Description Doors- Standard summerhouses come with one double door in oak with raised pattern on lower panels. Windows - Seven pairs of windows that are side hanged and outwards opening. The lantern on top of the roof is in oak and has 8 windows, top hanged and outwards opening. Windows and doors are single glazed but can be double glazed with inner glass being LE coated. Floor- The floor construction is a 'free bearing' slab with wooden beams (120 x 45 mm). Total thickness is 187 mm. The floor covering is 22 mm varnished tongue and grooved pine boards. (An option is oiled oak). The wooden slab stands on nine concrete blocks. The distance between the ground and the slab should be minimum 10 cm to allow for circulation of air. Alternatively we can provide a concrete slab and the wooden slab can rest directly on this. Finish - The house is usually painted inside an outside with optional colour scheme.
Insulation The walls and floor are thermally insulated (mineral fibre 80 x 40 mm with 20 mm air space) and we can provide the option of roof insulation.
Fittings
The summerhouses are fitted with UK specification electricity points, door/window handles and locks.
Foundation work We provide suitable foundations. As standard the summer houses are delivered with a wooden slab, which stands on brick plinths with membrane and gravel under the structure.
Delivery and Erection The houses are manufactured and delivered in prefabricated modules which are assembled by us at the site. A crane is normally not needed at site since the modules are not bigger in size and weight than two men can handle.
We use the same carpenters who manufactured the Summer House to erect it on site. Erection usually takes 3 to 4 days depending on site conditions.
